Editor Note from Paul Fiorino , president of the Colorado
Arts Consortium
Thanks
to all who supported the SCFD 4B for another twelve years..The Arts Campaign continues
from the one room school house in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to the light
house in New York a beacon of hope, imagination and preservation. The
movement of first position carries a goal for our Great State in many
ways, starting with Denver. Numero uno in fans, those that look for the
dance in all the sports they see, a rhythm of muscular endurance and that which
is most important to our health & well -being. We continue to grow
and find a way through the maze of a society that is in great need and healing
in so many ways. Our time is now.

Alyson Stanfield, www.artbizcoach.com
A couple of weeks ago I received an
offer I couldn't refuse.
American Craft magazine called
and asked me to review an exhibit of weavings that were on exhibit in the
Denver area. Weavings? I haven't even sat at a loom and can barely tell you the
difference between a warp and a weft! But the magazine wasn't interested in the
technique, per se. They were interested in the fact that the weavings existed
only because two artists came together and collaborated.

DCTV
NEEDS YOUR HELP!
If you have ever seen Backstage
Colorado, participated in or seen any of the other
worthwhile programming provided by DCTV
in Denver, they need your help.
Backstage Colorado airs Mondays at 7pm
and Wednesdays at 3pm -
this month Firehouse Theater Co,
Openstage and Passport Playbill.
November is their membership drive month
and they have made it clear that if they do
not achieve a certain goal that they
will most likely go off the air sometime in 2005.
You can go to their website for more
info. Their address is www.DCTV.org. Show them
that the Denver theatre community
appreciates their efforts.
It would be a shame to lose this
organization that has given so much in the way of
public access to their facilities to
direct and produce ones own productions for air.
I am also continually looking for
theatres to participate in my show. You can email me
if interested in a profile of your
company.

CENTER FOR FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY PHOTO
JOURNALISM EXHIBIT
The Center for Fine Art Photography has
moved into its new facilities on the
third
floor of the Fort Collins Museum of
Contemporary Art.
The newly renovated 2,200 sq. ft.
facility provides the Center with ample
gallery
space for exhibitions, a class room and an office.
The transformation was achieved through
the help of selfless volunteers who
contributed
thousands of hours of their time to renovate the space - and through the
generous
donations of many service contractors.
A
Celebration On Friday, November 5, coinciding with the Fort Collins Old Town
Gallery Walk, The Center will celebrate its Grand Opening with a special
exhibition
entitled:
The Fine Art of Photojournalism.
While often considered raw
documentaries, news images can be both newsworthy
and
display the quality of fine art photographs. With its inaugural show, the
Center
honors the field of photography that communicates, informs and educates us at
the same time.
This comprehensive display of images was
assembled from the work of over 15
photojournalists working with Front Range
newspapers - including the Fort
Collins
Coloradoan, Fort Collins Weekly, Rocky Mountain News (Denver), Denver Post,
Greeley Tribune, Loveland Reporter-Herald, the Denver Business Journal and
Boulder The Daily Camera.
The Center's Grand Opening Reception and
Gallery Exhibition will take place
from
6-9pm on the third floor of the MOCA Building, 201 South College Avenue, Fort
Collins, Co.
A
preview of images to be exhibited can be seen on the Center's website:
