Editors Note:

We are very excited here at the Cultural Arts Council to bring to you today, this special edition of E-NEWS . Normally I whine about something in E-NEWS editorials about something that gets me "torqued" - as a friend once complained. Not today. I have been told by the Executive committee at CACEP to stop the whining and relay the exciting news. As excited as I am it is difficult not to whine and snivel just a little.

Here it is: I had to get up early this morning to type this up. The Executive committee

pays me by the hour to put the E-NEWS together each week and I forgot to put in my contract any extra compensation for special editions. I'm sending a bill anyway since CACEP now has ...........oops,! wait a minute - that's the exciting news.

First, the town trustees had a change of heart on the FOSH funds and decided that what the town really needed after calling up the consultant they hired for studying arts facilities, was to build a dinner theater over at the Stanely Fair Grounds. This sudden decisions came about this week when they discovered that their investing the FOSH funds in British pounds, doubled the money. Bless those Brits! And why should CACEP like this news, you ask? Well, CACEP has been asked under a very nice sub contract to run the theater. (I hear your groaning - but wait - theres more!) In an emergency conference call meeting last night ( everyone except me was on spring break - Mike Oline was in Thailand lining up a Gangalon Band for Thursday Night Live!) and it was decided to get Tim to dish the food, Greig to be Master of Ceremonies. To rush into production with the first play, Chris has signed up Jim Cope to reprise his roll in the Mikado for a years run, seven days a week, with option for a second year. It is all so exciting that we are just now working on other details and will let you know what they are when things settle down a bit. Needless to say we are looking for musicians. And due to the work load on this new project, CACEP has decided not to be involved in any art exhibitions this coming year.

KREV-LP 104.7 FM:

The community radio station has fired it's Station Manager, Paul Saunders after discovering he had a hidden stash of FCC banned records in the church basement.

The Radio Committee and Program Director (who knew nothing about Saunders records) has decided to change the program format after reviewing the 15,000 survey reports mailed in by all the town listeners. The new format will be all talk, news and weather reports . Since the weather can be completely different depending on where you are standing in Estes Park, the station has hired students from the High School to stand in twenty locations and report the weather as it is happening 24/7. Keep your radio on.
