Editor's Note:
I
know some of you hang around your computer on Tuesday just waiting for this
newsletter, however, it seems that so many press releases have been coming in
Tuesday afternoon and even Wednesday morning that I've decided that perhaps it
would be better to publish the newsletter late on Wednesday.

AND NOW FOR SOME GREAT COLORADO ARTS NEWS:
"BRONZE
REFLECTIONS" UNIQUE SCULPTURE-OPENS WITH DUALRECEPTIONS
IN
ESTES PARK
Estes
Park, CO - The Art Center of Estes Park, in conjunction with The Estes Park
Museum, is pleased to announce a dual reception for Dee Clements, Loveland
sculptor, and his show, "Bronze Reflections".
The
Art Center reception is sponsored by the Denver Art Company. Both venues will
offer refreshments and wine. Receptions are from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday May
13th. The public is invited. The Art Center of Estes Park is located in Lower
Stanley Village. Several small pieces will be on display at the Estes Park
Museum, located at 200 Fourth St., Estes Park, Co. The museum will also be
having their show, "Lost Inns", a wonderful exhibit showcasing Lodges
that no longer exist in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park.
Dee
Clements has a Master's of Fine Arts in sculpture, and is a member of the
National Sculptor's Guild. He has had works commissioned by major corporations
and municipalities. His sculpture is a product of
his
life experiences and interests. The memories and the imagery of the small South
Dakota community where he was born and raised; its family, its sense of freedom
as a youth, its sense of community and its people have been a source of
inspiration over the years.
The
Art Center of Estes Park is a non-profit organization, which provides a
facility to support and promote the work of local and regional artists. The
proceeds benefit both the artist and contribute to the Art Center's educational
and community outreach programs.

REPLY TO MY SCHOOL EMAIL AT karen.mcchesney@dcsdk12.org
Hey there!
I am trying to pull together a panel of
guest presenters from the world
of theater for my theater II class at
Rock Canyon H.S. (Highlands Ranch)
and of course, you all came to mind. I'm
looking at Wednesday, May 11.
Class runs 11:30am-1pm. Let me know if
you have any availability during
that window of time. I'd like to have
the panel run a total of 1 hour,
allowing time for each of you to tell
your story (how and why I got into
theater, my life in theater, etc.) and
then time for the kids to ask
questions.
Unfortunately, this is a volunteer gig.
I've had many guest presenters
this year and feel very fortunate that
they have all donated their time.
Yes, I know I'll owe you a lot of
chocolate, Starbucks....
If you're not available, I would really
appreciate you referring me onto
yet other theater types. I am seeking
actors, directors, scriptwriters,
producers, makeup artists...and pretty
much anyone who will work for
food!!!
Hope to hear from you. Meanwhile, I also
wanted to let you know that the
curtain opens at Rock Canyon this
(7:30pm) Friday, May 6 & Saturday, May
7 for "You Can't Take it With
You." I was fortunate enough to have Tracy
Shaffer-Witherspoon as assistant
director (and partner in crime!). The
kids love her!
Thanks, everyone!
