Editor's Note:
About
sixteen years ago, the state of the arts in Colorado was at that embryonic
stage where there was the birth of local arts in the forming of councils to
bring support and to bring together the the various arts groups and
individuals. I won't go into all the history again but it is enough to say that
many people at that time took up the leadership and vision to carry the state
of the arts to active and significant support. When the state Colorado Council
for the Arts seeded the beginnings of the Colorado Arts Consorium, one of the
great persons who made the Consortium a service to the rural arts of Colorado
was one of the founders, Ruth Dusenbury of Holyoke. It is with sadness for the
loss to her family and the arts of Colorado that Ruth Dusenbury passed away on
Friday, January 6th. Her funeral will be Friday the 13th at the Zion Luthern
Church in Holyoke at 1:30 PM There will be no graveside services. Expressions
may be sent to her daughter, Debra Dusenbury, 641 S. Baxter Ave. Holyoke, CO
80734-1446
